Origin
Our founder, Chelsea Hadlock, was given her grandmother’s warm winter throw blanket several years ago. It is double-sided with plaid on one side and a polyester sherpa on the other. While a bit scratchy, it was the family’s favorite for cold Vermont winters to cozy into. Chelsea knew there were materials out there to make it even nicer - soft, natural fibers that radiate warmth back to you.
Production
We use small batch manufacturing to minimize overproduction and the negative environmental effects associated with overbuilding products. We found first class mills and factories in New England and the Mid-Atlantic regions in the US to build our first products. This allows us to support local jobs, minimize shipping impacts, and ensure the high quality of our products. They are artisans of their craft whom we trust and appreciate for the excellent work they do.
Wool
Wool’s natural properties make it amazing for people to use in apparel and blankets. The fibers radiate your body heat back to you but don’t let you overheat. The wool sherpa, in particular, is excellent at keeping heat close to your body as the air pockets act as insulation to keep you toasty. Wool naturally keeps odors away and are dirt resistant - meaning you won’t have to wash blankets often. It’s better to shake out your blanket and let it air rather than fully washing it. Wool is hypoallergenic and resists mold and mildew.
